WELCOME TO CROATIA AND ROVINJ 17th COMPANY
SPORT GAMES 2009

For more than 30 years, European Federation for Company Sport (EFCS) organizes Summer Sport Games and Winter Sport Games, or Eurosportfestivals, recently renamed to European Company Sport Games. The games are the basic part of the Federation’s program dedicated to organizing mass sport manifestations for European workers and citizens.

The Games are organized every second year in another country; Summer Games in odd years, and Winter Games in even years. Countries, which are the members of the EFCS, apply for hosting the Games, and then the Assembly of European Federation in the process of secret balloting grants the hosting to one of the competing countries, represented by a city, which offers the most advantaging conditions for organizing the Games.

Among very competitive cities of Hamburg, Prague, and Lahti, hosting of the 2009 Games has been entrusted to the City of Rovinj, and the organization to Croatian Sport for all Federation.

This is a highly appreciated tribute to Croatian Sport for all Federation and to the City of Rovinj, who was a host to 7 th Eurosportfestival in 1989.
